Well, this was the last item in my winter wardrobe. I nearly didn't make it, but then patternreview had a lined jacket comp and I saw that Eddi Frantz left a comment on my blog encouraging me to sew this classic style (I can't believe he visited my blog...if you pass this way again Eddi, I love your columns in Australian Stitches!). He recommended a metallic fabric, but I had already purchased this wool. Halfway through, I was a bit despondent at how drab it looked, so then I changed to these rather fanciful buttons. It was a tough project by I am satisfied that it fits so well...no hollows at the bust or straining at the hips.
PS the photos are just plonked in this blog because I am on a borrowed computer and I need to get the photos up before the competition deadline.

Your jacket is beautiful! Very well done!
Gorgeous jacket! It looks fantastic on you.
Fab job! I really love the style and especially love those buttons. Great work.
Beautiful!
Katherine, you have done a superb job on that jacket. The grey isn't drab at all - the buttons are a great highlight and a coloured scarf will lift it.
You definitely should dabble in more tailoring. You are great at it!
Absolutely beautiful. And the buttons are to die for.
wonderful! I love it
A Fantastic Jacket, so professionally made. I bet it feels fantastic to wear. I also love the denim skirt you have made!
It looks SO SO good on you! Great job!
Congrats on winning the Lined Jacket Contest on PR with your fabulous jacket. Btw, I have given you an award on my blog. I think you deserve a second prize. :)
Love this jacket ... I've made only one lined jacket before - this makes me want to make another.
What a beautiful jacket!
Thank you!
Blogs are such a fantastic way to interact and find out what different people from all walks of life are thinking, aren't they? (Sometimes I think that our readers forget that we are just people too! So I really appreciate your compliment.) Just want to say that even if the photos were 'plonked' on, you look fantastic in that jacket! The buttons were a genius touch. I myself do this all the time to 'upgrade' a jacket and it's the easiest way, isn't it? I don't think the colour looks drab at all, it only highlights how GREAT your figure looks in it! Would love to know how else you will wear it. Please keep tailoring....it's a dying art!!
All the best,
