I'm not getting much time for sewing projects at the moment, so am going for the quickies...
This top was made from a Marfy pattern (0224) that I first made up 5 years ago, so it was already traced (yay!). The cowl is separate piece, only attached at the back neck, so no gaping when you bend over. The only difference for this version was that I bound the neckline and armholes with my coverstitch machine. The fabric is a viscose lycra knit that is still available in 2 other colour ways (here and here).
This is lovely, such a pretty drape on the cowl. Not too low, just right!
ReplyDeleteNice top, it hangs beautifully and I love the colours - we don't often see you in blue. The pants work really well with the silhouette too. Very chic!
ReplyDeleteIt makes a very smart outfit. The blue print is lovely and the geometric is a nice contrast to the soft pleats in the cowl, very nice, especially for a quick project!
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is so interesting and I like how you've used it with this pattern. Might give Marfy a go - so far everything I've seen in Marfy has turned out beautifully.
ReplyDeleteCute! LOVE the fabric!
ReplyDeleteI agree that is the perfect cowl. Not too deep.

ReplyDeletemad for plaid! I love this as the drape of the cowl is so pretty with the geometric plaid. really pretty.
ReplyDeleteI can relate. Love the top, the cowl is lovely and how clever that it's not part of the top. I love cowl tops but I always worry I'm about to give someone an eyeful when I lean forward!
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is a great match with the pattern, and both really suit you. I am quite intrigued by the idea of a separate cowl...
ReplyDeleteQuickies can be goodies too! It's a lovely top and shows of an interesting print nicely.
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice use of the print. I really love these colors. I might have to try a cowl-neck top.
